NSHA Math Team Excels in County-Wide Competition

Congratulations to our High School Math Team on a strong start to the Nassau County Interscholastic Math League season. Two students — Valerie B. ‘27 and Judah S. ‘27 — earned perfect scores on Contest #2, an impressive achievement in a highly competitive field.

NSHA is also currently ranked among the top 10 schools in the league, which now includes schools from both Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Under the guidance of Ms. Kleva Kosta, students meet weekly to review past contests, strengthen problem-solving strategies, and learn to recognize common patterns that appear in competition questions. The contest runs monthly for six months, and each school’s ranking is determined by combining its top five individual scores from the first two rounds.

The league offers a wonderful opportunity for students who enjoy math to challenge themselves, build confidence, and sharpen skills that align closely with SAT-style problem solving.
