This for-credit, twice a week, after-school class is open to all interested sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students explore this ancient language that serves as the basis for many modern languages, study the relationship between the grammar and vocabulary of Latin and modern-day English, and compare Latin to the Romance languages they study today. This course is sure to help build students’ vocabulary in preparation for both standardized tests and college-level work. Students are required to attend class on a regular basis and to complete any reading and written homework assignments.
