Python Programming is a self-directed weekly course that utilizes Codesters.com and the Girls Who Code framework to teach students the basics of Python programming.
Web Development is a self-directed weekly course where students explore all facets of web design and development including HTML, CSS, XML, and graphic design.
JavaScript Basics is a self-directed weekly course utilizing Vidcode.com that teaches students how to code in JavaScript while building their own videos.
Students involved in this club learn all facets of new production including script writing, directing, producing, field reporting, acting, filming, and editing. From an editing perspective, students will learn to use Adobe Premiere and a number of other audio and video editing tools to produce an episode of North Shore News. A faculty member from the Computer Science and Technology department will act as Advisor.
Students involved in this national club study specific aspects of computer science each year and participate in a global impact project. They collaborate with other girls in an environment, which fosters confidence and excitement about women in computer science.
