Theater (Grade 3)

Mondays, 3:15-4:15 pm

Instructors: Ms. Elyse Price & Mr. Joel Bernard

3rd Grade Acting is an acting journey who are ready to shine on the big stage. This class is taught by professional theater artists Ms. Elyse Price (MFA, American Conservatory Theater, 2014) and Mr. Joel Bernard (American Conservatory Theater, 2015), who bring a wealth of experience and passion to the stage.

Students will deepen their understanding of theatrical principles while continuing to build their confidence, creativity, and collaborative skills. Through engaging lessons and rehearsals, students will explore:

  • Stage movement, voice, diction, and theater etiquette, including discipline and respect during rehearsal
  • Script analysis, including identifying objectives, understanding context, and exploring given circumstances
  • Improvisation and ensemble-building to strengthen stage presence and self-assurance
  • Theatrical conventions and dramatic traditions from various genres and time periods

The semester will culminate in a live staged performance open to family – an opportunity to showcase the skills and growth achieved throughout the course.
