On 11.5 acres of beautifully maintained fields and in our gymnasiums, we come together as friends and teammates to experience the thrill of competition, and the satisfaction of individual growth and group achievement.
NSHAHS coaches are professionals in their fields who are just as dedicated to being positive role models for their students as they are to guiding our teams to gaining new skills and strengths, accomplishing their personal goals – and achieving victory! Over the last few years, NSHAHS athletics have produced many Metropolitan Yeshiva High School Athletic League (MYHSAL) championships in tennis, soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
NSHAHS has established itself as a basketball powerhouse! During the 2022-23 season, the boys basketball team slam dunked their season – winning 14 games in a row and taking home the Metropolitan Yeshiva High School Athletic League champion title.
Coach Shalom Babayev said the secret to the team’s success was carefully preparing for each game, rather than thinking about their undefeated season. Coach Babayev rounded out the year by winning an award of his own: Jewish Hoops America (JHA)’s Coach of the Year Award.
“You represent three things — the name on front of your jersey, which is NSHAHS, the name on back of your jersey, which is your family, and the kippah on your head, which is for Hashem, who makes sure that everything goes according to plan. This is greater than your basketball career — it’s about holding yourselves to a higher value.”

What’s your sport of choice? NSHAHS is home to more than eighteen teams! Teams include basketball, hockey, soccer, volleyball, bowling, tennis, baseball, and wrestling.
