Library & Media

At the heart of North Shore Hebrew Academy High School is our beautiful, light-filled library.

The NSHAHS library has been thoughtfully designed for reading, studying, and browsing. Both students and faculty are encouraged to visit the library during free periods and after school to peruse and borrow books, make use of our state-of-the-art technology, and study independently or with classmates. Our expert librarian instructs students in research techniques that will serve them well in college and beyond.

The library’s collection of materials in both General and Jewish Studies is constantly growing to fit the needs and reflect the interests of our student body. In addition, we now have an extensive online library called OverDrive, a collection of e-books that students and faculty can use from almost any device.

The library has been recognized by the New York State Education Commission as an “Electronic Doorway Library,” in the Advanced Level category, for its use of computers and telecommunications technology to provide electronic library services. As an electronic doorway library, our library reaches beyond our school’s walls to obtain information and resources, and provides new ways of assembling, evaluating, and using information. Additionally, our library has been recognized by the Association of Jewish Libraries Accreditation Committee in the Advanced Accreditation category for its impressive collection of books and media, programming, staff, and more.
