No scripts or experience needed - just a willingness to be silly, try new things, and shine on stage! Judaic art, creative art themes, and famous artists' styles are explored through painting, drawing, clay work, collage, portraits, printing, mixed media, and more! Our lessons are open-ended and speculative, involving critical thinking and motivating students to use problem-solving skills. We developed a flexible classroom environment where students have a voice in their learning and are encouraged to share information to construct their own knowledge. Our program emphasizes individual learning styles and capabilities. We aim to help students know they are all artists as they develop their self-confidence and creativity! This year we will have fun and learn about the seasons and weather as we explore our world and the people in it! Mrs. Cole has worked at North Shore Hebrew Academy as an art educator for the past four years teaching and developing curriculum for grades 1-8. She has her Bachelor's in Fine Arts and her Master’s in Art Education. Led by a chess enthusiast's expert, the goal is to enrich kids to have better chess knowledge. The chess coach is a USCF National Master who has prominent experience in teaching and chess coaching to K-12 students locally and remotely. The curriculum is designed by our coaches and geared toward different levels of students.
