Sixth – Eighth Grade
In Middle School, our program is departmental, and students move from class to class throughout the day. Upon graduation, they are prepared for the challenges of a high school curriculum.
Students hone critical reading skills, practice formal and creative writing, learn the scientific method, and participate in a challenging math curriculum. Students study Gemara and Rishonim, Tanach, Jewish History, and Zionism. They build on their fluency of the Hebrew language through Ivrit b’Ivrit instruction and the study of Hebrew literature.
Our Advisory Program consists of small group discussions, covering a range of social and emotional issues, including the safe use of technology, organizational skills, and how to build strong friendships. We offer a wide variety of both secular and Judaic extracurricular courses, such as a school literary magazine, a debate team, mishmar, and sports teams.
In-class learning is supplemented by ruach-filled Shabbatonim and exciting field trips in the New York-area, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Our extensive Middle School chesed program inspires students to practice tikkun olam and Bar/Bat Mitzvah students are encouraged to embrace a chesed project as part of their celebrations.
