Meorot Fund Raising Campaign
Meorot, an innovative special education Judaic Studies program successfully concluded its first year.
The program recruited an exceptional staff led by Dr. Rebeka Gutkind, established a beginner K-1 class focusing on Hebrew language comprehension and Kriya skills, developed a modified curriculum based on input from supporting Yeshivot, implemented a differentiated teaching model where each child has an individualized education plan, and successfully prepared a student for mainstream to a local yeshiva. Meorot is life changing for its students and families.
Meorot also provides education and chizuk to the community at large by providing a community lecture series focusing on parenting topics with a special education orientation. Lectures delivered by Meorot’s talented Board of advisors included topics such as: “Developing your Child’s uniqueness” by Child Psychologist Dr. David Pelcovitz, “Navigating the IEP Process” by Administrative Law Judge Helene Peyser and “Language Development and its Impact on Learning” by Neuropsychologist Dr. Herman Davidovicz.
We seek to grow by accommodating more students and adding classes. What began as a grass roots community initiative is developing into a vital institution for families in Great Neck and surrounding communities. With North Shore Hebrew Academy and Meorot’s board’s support, expenses are predominantly concentrated towards staffing with a modest amount for marketing. Fund raising is critical for the program’s sustainability. We need your support to continue our critical mission in the community.
*All funds raised are accepted by North Shore Hebrew Academy on behalf of Meorot and segregated into a separate account. NSHA will provide tax receipts for your donation. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you would like to make other arrangements for your donation.
